"Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will build a healthy, disease-free Korea!"

The Korea CDC was founded in 2004, developed and reorganized from the Korea National Institute of Health, with a purpose of establishing a safe health management system and administration of more effective disease control. In December of 2010, we embarked on a new journey as a core institution for national health management after relocating our office to the Chungbuk Osong Health and Medical Administration Town.

In order to respond to national health emergencies from anynew epidemic outbreak, KCDC have strengthened our public health emergency response capacity and established a systematic disease control response system through research, investigation, and surveillance of diseases.

KCDC also conduct various national health campaigns to promote prevention activities among citizens regarding increasing acute/chronic diseases, and remain at the forefront of public health effort to implementbiomedical science infrastructure and integrated research systems as a new impetus fornational growth.
